The Hallways to Health Toolkit and Local Wellness Policies: The Role of SBHCs in Creating Healthier School Environments

Date: October 2020

Yes! School-Based Health Centers can help create school-wide cultures of wellness. Our Hallways to Health Toolkit provides many strategies, resources, and examples from the field on how to do this. A vital strategy is understanding and collaborating in the development and implementation of your school district’s local wellness policy. Join the School-Based Health Alliance and Alliance for a Healthier Generation for a one-hour interactive webinar to learn about strategies for creating healthier school-wide environments for students and staff to work, learn, and play. Using resources developed by our two organizations – Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Model Wellness Policy and the School-Based Health Alliance’s Hallways to Health toolkit—SBHC participants will identify ways to build a culture of health, including model local wellness policy language and tools to engage with district wellness councils and school wellness teams.

Presenter: Shauvon Simmons-Wright, M.Ed, National Advisor, HSCP, Alliance for a Healthier Generation
