Portfolio: Consulting, Technical Assistance, & Training
I joined the School-Based Health Alliance in 2023, where I oversee consulting, support Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) initiatives, and lead our behavioral health work. I have worked in the school-based health care field at the local, state, and national levels since 2011. As a clinical social worker and manager of behavioral health services at a local school-based health center, I provided direct clinical care and expanded behavioral health programming, including alternative to suspension programs and a calm room. I also served on the Illinois School-Based Health Alliance Steering Committee for several years. In addition to my role at SBHA, I practice clinically in my local Children’s Hospital and Adult Emergency Departments, where I see firsthand the critical importance of accessible school-based services to help reduce preventable ER visits. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Criminal Justice from Western Michigan University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, and both a Master of Jurisprudence in Children’s Law and Policy and a PhD in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I work remotely from my home in Grand Rapids, MI. When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my dogs, friends, and family. I love to travel and am hoping to continue to explore places I have never seen!
