Mark Masselli is president, CEO, and founder of Community Health Center, Inc., Connecticut’s leading provider of medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare for the underserved and special populations. Founded in 1972, CHC cares for approximately 150,000 patients at more than 200 sites, including the state’s largest School-Based Health Care network serving thousands of students at all grade levels. Masselli leads CHC’s pandemic response; when Connecticut schools closed in March 2020, he headed the swift and successful transition to telehealth of all school-based services. CHC administered more 500,000 COVID-19 vaccines to people statewide and won national acclaim for its educational messages addressing vaccine hesitancy among people of color. CHC has a global platform through the Weitzman Institute, its research and innovation arm that has launched education, training and telehealth programs operating in all 50 states and internationally.
Masselli serves as board chair of the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement, a school based in Colorado dedicated to training medical assistants, and of the national e-Consult provider ConferMED. He serves on the board of the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium and is Vice President of the Goodspeed Opera House Board of Trustees. He received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by Wesleyan University in 2009 for his work in the healthcare field.
