Laura Brey, M.S.

Chief Strategy Officer

As part of the executive team at the School-Based Health Alliance, my portfolio work focuses on organizational strategy and long-term direction for SBHA. I bring more than 40 years of experience in school-based health care, having discovered the field in 1983 and serving in volunteer and staff roles at the local, state, and national levels. I joined SBHA in 2001 and continue to support the Alliance through strategic leadership, national partnerships, and ongoing development of the systems that strengthen our mission.

My passion for this work is rooted in decades of witnessing firsthand how children’s lives are transformed by having access to primary and mental healthcare at school, growing the number and quality of SBHCs, and mentoring the next generation of leaders. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Science in Community Health and Health Administration from the University of Illinois. I work remotely from my home in North Carolina and enjoy yoga and pilates, travel, making new friends, and spending time with my dog, adult children, and grandchildren.
