The School-Based Health Alliance is committed to working with youth

Young people are effective advocates for and consumers of their own health care. As key stakeholders, youth provide critical input to the creation and delivery of services, as well as advocacy and awareness efforts for health topics and needs. SBHA provides content, initiatives, and services that foster youth leadership and development, where:

  1. Young people feel prepared and supported as change leaders in school and community health.
  2. Health and education professionals develop skills and mentoring capacities to engage youth as partners in health and wellbeing.
  3. Health centers create sustainable conditions where meaningful youth leadership and peer health education can take place.
