Tracy Macdonald Mendez is the Executive Director of the California School-Based Health Center Alliance (CSHA). She has spent 30 years working in the health care safety net trying to help improve coverage and care for low-income populations, with a special focus on children and youth. She has over ten years experience working in school-based health centers and over 20 years working in community health center operations. Tracy has Master’s degrees in Public Health and Public Policy from UC Berkeley. She is the lucky mother of a resilient 13-year old and they live in Oakland with their Taiwanese mountain dog.
