About the School-Based Health Alliance
Founded in 1995, the School-Based Health Alliance (SBHA) is a nonprofit organization that advances and informs more than 2,500 school-based health care programs, enabling them to provide high-quality care to the nation’s most vulnerable children. SBHA also supports a network of 22 state affiliates, collaborates with partner organizations in the school health field, and serves as a resource to policymakers in the education and health sectors.
Among its primary functions, SBHA:
- Establishes and advocates for national policy priorities
- Promotes high-quality clinical practices and standards
- Supports data collection and reporting, evaluation, and research
- Provides training, technical assistance, and consultation

President and Chief Executive Officer: Robert Boyd
As President and CEO of the School-Based Health Alliance, Robert directs all planning, policy, administration, and resource development. His top goals for SBHA are to expand its base of political and financial support and grow the school-based health center model nationwide. School-based health centers expand access to health care for low-income children and adolescents, setting them up for success inside and outside of school.
