As refugees adapt to life in the United States, children need to succeed in school, make friends, and reach developmental milestones and adults need to find gainful employment, integrate into communities, and achieve a healthy quality of life. The initial domestic medical screening recommends vision screening for early detection and treatment of vision disorders. This webinar will address the importance of healthy sight to support life in the U.S.; evidence-based vision screening methods and tools adapted for newcomer populations; and approaches for effective referrals for follow-up vision care. Continuing education credits will be available. Thursday, June 15, 2023; 1 – 2 p.m. ET
