New Guidance: Youth Mental Health in the Wake of COVID-19

From the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine:

Dear Partner,

I’m sharing the most recent rapid expert consultation from the National Academies’ Societal Experts Action Network (SEAN). The rapid expert consultation, School-Based Strategies for Addressing the Mental Health and Well-Being of Youth in the Wake of COVID-19, identifies school-based strategies for addressing the mental health and well-being challenges facing youth that arose or were exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Key strategies can be accessed through an interactive web summary. We hope that you will share this with your members.

The network, which is housed at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, and supported by the National Science Foundation, is designed to connect social, behavioral, and economic science with decision makers grappling with a range of policy questions related to COVID-19.  SEAN’s other products on evaluating data, promoting the adoption of protective behaviors, and contact tracing can be viewed here. We are grateful for support from The David and Lucile Packard Foundation for this project.

Please feel free to reach out if there are other pressing questions from your members that SEAN could help answer. You can reach us at sean@nas.edu or (202) 334-3440. We would also be happy to arrange a call to discuss the network and how it can be of use to you and your members.
